Machine shop area, aka "the works," at the back of Pico Canyon. Undated. The style of writing the identification on the front of this real photo postcard indicates it is from the 1910s.

Local historian Stan Walker writes: "The machine shop was built in 1879. You can see the bottom of CSO 29 at the top of the picture. It was spudded in 1898, so this date of this photo can't be any earlier than that."
