A few of PCO Hill in Pico Canyon, ~1890s. Photograph by Rudolph Eugene Nickel, publisher of the Acton Rooster newspaper.
PCO Hill is on the south/east side, deep in the canyon (left side as you're going up). At the photographer's back is CSO Hill, where the famous CSO No. 4 oil well was located.
According to local historian Stan Walker, Pico No. 1 is at lower left in this photograph and Pico No. 2 is at bottom-center. Note the two men standing atop the Pico No. 1 derrick.
Same view in 2013. Photo by Stan Walker.
