School spirit and team loyalty
were never higher than in 1970-71 .
The year was highlighted, of
course, by the first Homecoming
game. In that game, the Cowboy
team trounced our cross-town ri-
vals, the Hart High Indians, by a
score of 16-8.
Hard work and determination
were the key words for all of the
athletic teams. They fought hard,
and represented our school well.
Two new athletic teams proudly
wore the colors of green and gold
in 1971. Canyon's student body
welcomed the addition of both the
swim team, and a wrestling team.
