Golden Court

ifty years. Fifty years of excellence. Fifty years of excellence at a school that
captures numerous CIF titles, that prides itself on its high academic standards, and
F that keeps school spirit intact despite the hardships it has endured. This spirit
became apparent during the Fiftieth Anniversary Homecoming week.
The events of the week led up to a victory by the football team against Burbank with
a score of 56-0. "Obviously we blew them
[Burbank] out," senior Greg Silver
commented, "But, to tell the truth, Troy
Meldrum and I were too busy struttin' our
stuff and I did not see much of the game."
Both seniors Greg Silver and Troy Meldrum
were part of the ceremonies for they were
chosen by their peers to be on the
Homecoming Court along with seniors
Heather Crabtree, Matt Dierckman, Wendy Downen, Jennifer Frank, Colin Goldstein,
Joey Madick, Angela White, and Sarni Whitney. At half-time, the court and crowd
watched as the crowning of King Colin
Goldstein and Queen Wendy Downen took
place atop a stage adorned with balloons
and an enormous yearbook whose contents
spanned fifty years at the school. In
describing her reaction to winning, Wendy
said, "Besides the fact that my brother and
two sisters have all been on Homecoming
Court before me at Hart, I seriously did not
icking off the festivities, senior even expect to even be on the court...but I was flattered." King Colin Goldstein felt that
