As a result of the above authorization, the County
Counsel and the Department of Parks and Recreation
have met with the State Department of Water Resources,
the r-ietropolitan Water District, the Department of
Water and Power of th~ City of Los Angeles, and other
interested parties involved in the development of
Castaic Reservoir •. These meetings have resulted in a
set 0£ stipulations regarding Castaic Lake recreation
and the Castaic Lake State Recreation Area Operating
Agreement.

On October 14 1969, your Honorable Board adopted a

Board Order·granting the County Counsel authority to
execute the stipulations regarding the Castaic Lake
recreati_on program~ approving· in concept tpe Cast_aic
Lake recreation plan and the plan of operation of the
facility, and giving tentative approval to the concepts
· embodied in the operating agreement between the State
or Cali£ornia and the County of Los tngeles for the de-
velopment and operation of the Castaic Lake State Recre-
ation Area. · ~-.... _

The County Counsel and the Department of Parks and
Recreation agree that the Stipulation Regarding Casta·ic
Lake Recreation and the Castaic Lake State Recreation
Area Operating Agreement, are acceptable and will be
beneficial to_ the people of Los Angeles County.
