Love destroyed

by racial prejudice

was the spring play's theme. "West
Side Story" ran June 2-5, 1976,
drawing sellout crowds each night.
_"It was a challenge to obtain the
proper stage setting with the few
facilities provided, '' commented
Mr. Trevor Best, producer and
director.
Making rehearsals on time,
learning lines correctly, and devel-
oping good attitudes toward each
other were all pan of the students'
work to make "West Side Story" a
success.
The show's stars, Carla Lufting
(Maria) and Kun Hansen (Tony)
worked especially hard to get the
feel of their characters and to pro-
ject the emotional app~al of this
love story.
