to pay for college are a foundation of their
recruitment. The group itself meets for two
hours per day; the Hart district program runs at
al I ofthe high schools with the meetings held at
Valencia High. Captain Ed Colley is the group's
adviser. He organizes the classes around both
aerospace science and dri I ls. Both of these
facets wi 11 be usefu I to students who go on in
ROTC at the college level or who go directly into
mi I itary service after high school graduation. In
addition to the class work, ROTC members take
part in parades and performances with their
dri 11 routines. They present the colors at
assemblies and football games. ROTC
emphasizes personal integrity and the goals of
achieving to one's highest potential through
teamwork. The members often choose to attend
summer camp where fitness and discipline take
precedence.
