Best known as the co-anchor of Channel 4 News at 6 and 11 p.m., Kelly Lange
began her news broadcasting career as a helicopter traffic and spot news reporter
for KABC Radio in Los Angeles. She hosted a talk radio show on KABC, served as a
field reporter with KABC-TV and joined KNBC-TV in March 1971.
She began "anchoring" the KNBC -TV newscasts in 1975 and has reported and
narrated numerous documentaries, news stories and specials which have aired on
Channel 4 and other NBC owned stations.
Kelly received the Golden Mike and Emmy awards for the best 30-minute
broadcast, which she co-anchored for several years withjohn Beard.
She was honored with the Genii award, presented by the American Women in
Radio and Television, joining the ranks of past recipients Lucille Ball, Mary Tyler
Moore, and Beatrice Arthur. In 1989 Kelly was named a recipient of the
St. Augustine Award for Alumni Achievement from Merrimack College, located in
North Andover, Massachusetts.
She was born in New York and was graduated from Merrimack College. She moved
to Los Angeles in 1956 and currently resides in the Hollywood Hills.
