The five-year-old band Lotusphere used to be named Defunkt
and has picked up 6 members over their time together. They have
played together at the Whisky and the Roxy and have gathered a
small following in the Santa Clarita Valley. Most of the members
have gone through the drum line program here at Valencia High
School which is where they met. One of Lotospheres biggest influ-
ences is the punk/funk band Mr. Bungle. In fact, Defunkt used to be
a full-on funk band. Now they fuse rock and jazz and use some
wicked synthesisers for a very unique

sound. The band has recently re-
corded a demo CD at a local studio
and you can expect to hear them in
concert at a large ampitheatre in the
near future.
