my friends
We travel through life seeking out people who
we best relate to. It is said that school revolves
around academic accomplishments, but to most of
us school is a house of friendship, accompanied by
learning. Our friends are a big part of who we are
and who we strive to be. It is around our friends
when we are most ourselves. Friends allow us to
forget the conflict in our lives, and even if it's only
for a brief moment, we're happy. Around friends
we don't have to worry about trying to impress,
and this relaxation helps us grow more at ease
with who we are. Friendly environments bring out
the good within us and allow us to seek out other
individuals we can connect with. In high school,
we often feel overwhelmed by different tribula-
tions. With friends by our side, we are stronger and
more self-aware. Sometimes a single definition of
a person is created with the help of his or her rela-
tionships with others. The people you hang out
with define you; I am my friends, and they are me.
