Mr. Sirstins at CMS. high school lives may seem off
base, impossible if even, but the
connection is there. The generic
term of the "real world" is not
just an over used phrase or MTV
show, it is the real deal. After high
school or after college, whatever,
whenever, people decide upon
their futures and then enter a life
of responsibility and maturity. One
day we will leave the comfort of
school and be required to apply
our knowledge to real life. The
things we learn in high school will
prepare us for this huge step and
the activities we take part in are
relevant to our future lives. Job
shadowing requires juniors to step
into the shoes of an adult with a
real career to gain experience
in the "real world." Classes and
clubs, such as journalism, drama,
FBLA, and wildcat TV, prepare
students for their futures by giving
them experience in these areas.
