Though the learning experience school provides is important to our lives, sometimes it is the outside activities that truly teach
us more about ourselves. The social aspects that we experience throughout our four years of high school not only provide relief
from regular educational moments and enhance our school spirit, but they enrich our lives and expand on who we are. We
are presented with these opportunities as we attend school, interact with family, and grow older. Some of these activities are
school-sponsored, such as Winter Formal or Parent Shadow Day, but others are completely unrelated to our education. Regardless, we
are often able to further discover our independence as we experience our first jobs and earn the right to drive. All of these activities have
the common factor that they are our choices. We choose to attend Prom and we choose to hold minimum wage paying jobs. Each choice
defines who we are and where we want to head in life. Though our primary role at this time is to be students and work hard, we must also
remember to lead our lives in the right direction, the direction we see ourselves heading toward for our futures. Whether that leads us to
dancing the night away at the Back to the Ranch Dance or serving customers at Starbucks, the way we spend our free time is essential in
     defining us.
