CHiPs 1979

Named for the iconic gash in the mountain several miles to the south, Beale's Cut was a short-lived steakhouse in the 1970s at 26931 N. Sierra Hwy. in Canyon Country near the northwest corner of Via Princessa.

The location was originally the site of a Tip's restaurant, of which there were a total of five, over time, in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Beale's Cut gave way to another short-lived steakhouse, Cal Islands, and then the restaurant building was razed and the property redeveloped into a shopping center and gas station (below).

The inside of this matchbook cover is blank.

The restaurant was located at the center of this 2017 Google Maps image.
