Interior of what was originally Campton's General Store, now Lindenfeld & Landell, 1908.
George Campton is second from right. Frank Landell is at right. The two men at left are unknown.
Identification by Maggi Perkins (2010:32), who says Landell had been Campton's bookkeeper and eventually
succeeded Campton as Newhall's postmaster and took over the operation of the store, in partnership with Nick Lindenfeld.
"The one important feature of the store not shown," Maggi Perkins writes, "is the whiskey barrel. It was in the back room,
and access was generally obtained by paying off one's tab."
