The  formal  dedication  of the  First  Presbyterian  Church  of  Newhall
       occurred on  October II,  1891  in  Seruices  conducted  by  Reu.  Wilbur and
       assisted by Reu. Crawford.
























                  The  Presbyterian  Community  Church  was  a  favorite  exterior  shot
             for  many  of  the  early  silent  movies,  including  William  S.  Hart  and  Tom  Mix.


       From Session Minutes ••• October 1,  1899:


       "There  is  no  session  at  Newhall.  Elder  Kinnear  died  and  Mr.  Hume,
       though  elected, has neuer consented to be  ordained  and  installed.  Rt
       present  there  seems  to  be  no  other member whom  the  congregation
       can  elect  to  eldership.  Rs  the  regular Stated  Supply  I  haue  this  day
       receiued  into membership of this church, Mrs. Lewman by letter from
       the M. E.  Church of Alhambra, Ca.

      O  Mr.  RleH  Hume  has  the  honor  of  being  the  first  Sunday  School
       Superintendent.  He  faithfully  serued  in  this  capacity  for ouer thirty
       years.


     O  The  first recorded Session Meeting was held Nouember 1,  1891, with
       Mr. RleH  Hume acting as Secretary.
