minutes of Board Meeting pf October 20, 1997

I The meeting was called to order at 7: IO p.m. by Tom Frew after a quorum was ascertained. See an
attached sign-in sheet.

Laurene Weste moved to accept minutes of previous meeting as written. Seconded. Motion carried+

Treasurer's report--Gary Van Treese moved that the treasurer find the best interest rates for bank
accounts. Second. Motio~ carried.

Docents--will have party on October 31.
m Resto•~tio ... Committee--John Mann moved-to give restoration up=to $500. Second Motion Carried:

I Executive Direttorrs repori .. --Vanaiism has 09curred on 15 cinder biocks. 15 panes ofwindows
broken in Edison House, school house and chapel. Panes have been replaced at a cost of $26. All the
exterior trim at-the Kanch House has been repained and Edison House is next. .Kepainted aU putty on
• Pardee House. Paul has ~ed out Heritage Juncti9n for proposed installation of gas lamps by Gas

Co.

D :Byiaws--Carl .Kanowsky reviewed'changes in by .. iaws that were mailed to ail board members. Boar4
discussion followed. Changes to be made and presented to general mem't>ership at November
meeting. Ann wiUmail copies of by-laws to ali paid members of society. Vote will take plaee at
0 December general meeting.

Volunteer Recognition--wiil be held November 19. Board membrs were asked to submit names to
0 Carol Rock or Patti Rasmussen, who will chair event. Laurene W este moved to give Volunteer
Recognition committee up to $700 for expenses. Second.--Motion carried.

D Ridge Route Development--Toni Frew will be meeting with developer.
