Invoice and payment stub, 6¼x3½ inches, from the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company to Union Oil Co. of California at Piru, dated January 1, 1917, for (annual?) telephone exchange service i/a/o $9.00. Stamped on the front as payment received by Pacific Telephone and Telegraph's Ventura District office. Counterstamped on the back and signed by E.E. Chamberlain, superintendent of the Union Oil Company, which was based in Santa Paula, acknowledging materials received (in this instance, exchange service). The founders of Union Oil Company (1890) got their start in Pico Canyon and Newhall; read this.
