The Canyon Meadows American Baptist Conference Center was a subsidiary of the L.A. Baptist City Mission Society, dba American Baptist Churches of Los Angeles.
The 86-acre resort and sports complex had 12 salaried employees and a total payroll of 50 to 70.
We don't remember the opening and closing dates; it was in operation at least from the early 1970s to the end of the 1990s. It probably opened
a few years earlier and closed a bit later. If you know more, please tell us.
The facilities are still in use. As of 2013, it's the Canyon Creek Retreat Center, an 81-acre resort that's available for weddings, banquets, business
conferences and the like. The owners operate the Canyon Creek Sports Camp, a summer camp for boys and girls ages 7 to 16 from June to August. Also,
Ultimate Fantasy Sports Camp, an independent company founded in 2002, uses the facilities for adults who want to particpate in a variety of team sports.
