Dana Andrews portrays the title character in A.C. Lyles' 1966 production of "Johnny Reno," filmed in part at Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park and at Lyles' home studio, Paramount.
Lobby card No. 3 (of 8), 11x14 inches, staple holes from theatrical use, distributed under license from National Screen Service Corporation (NSS). The "66/88" at lower right simply means this was the 88th film for which NSS produced advertising materials in 1966.
Paramount's longest employee, A.C. Lyles was associated with the studio from 1938 until his death in 2013. He rode in the Santa Clarita Fourth of July Parade in 2006, representing the cast and crew of the HBO
series, "Deadwood," which was then filming at Melody Ranch. Lyles was a consulting producer on the show.
Back to "Johnny Reno:" Principal filming was done in August 1965, and the picture premiered March 6, 1966.
Lyles, Andrew Craddock and Steve Fisher were credited with writing the story of a frontier lawman, Reno, who comes to
town to visit his sweetheart (Jane Russell) and ends up having to deal with townsfolk who are determined to lynch a suspected outlaw
who might be innocent.
