Santa Clarita Valley History In Pictures

Air Pollution at Newhall Ranch.

Technical Report No. 2.

If smog in Los Angeles ever got so bad that we could smell it up here, the people of L.A. wouldn't stand for it; and even if the Santa Clarita Valley's population grew to 75,000 one day, there's enough wind turbulence here to blow away any locally generated smog. Therefore, "with proper planning, air pollution at Newhall Ranch [future Valencia] should never present a serious problem."
