Two Saugus High School graduates set up a GoFundMe crowdfunding account to aid people affected by Thursday's shooting at the school, and as of early Friday afternoon, 333 people had donated nearly $15,000.

Bianca Lorenz and Kaylee (Rabjohn) Peterson, both educators now, created the fundraiser Thursday afternoon, with a goal to raise $10,000 for the Saugus High ASB to cover costs of trauma-informed support, memorial services and materials, and grief counseling and support.

Lorenz and Peterson have also put out a request for donations of supplies for the vigil at Central Park Sunday night starting at 7.

Items needed include water bottles, tissue boxes, flowers, cards/pens, blankets, teddy bears and candy/snacks.

Water bottles, tissue boxes and flowers will be collected before the event. Please contact crystalsalinas233@gmail.com, juliannalozada19@gmail.com or andreimojica0719@gmail.com.

Blankets, teddy bears and candy/snacks can be donated at the event, organizers said.

Silver and blue lights will be handed out at the event, Santa Clarita Mayor Marsha McLean said at a Friday noon press conference. She asked participants not to bring candles.

"Students and staff have experienced a tragedy and deserve to be loved, cared for, and supported during this time," Lorenz and Peterson wrote on the GoFundMe page.

Here's more from the GoFundMe page:

"It is easy to feel helpless and lost during dark times, but we know our Saugus community wants to do something now. We have created this GoFundMe on behalf of Saugus alum and community. We did this out of desperation. We wanted to do something and we are thankful that so many people feel the same way.

"We both work in education and we know what trauma looks like," they wrote. "Kaylee has survived two shootings herself (UCSB and Vegas). We don't have the answers, but we do know that quality support can help. We hope that these funds can contribute to the healing process.

"We both have full-time jobs and we didn't realize this would become media management. We cannot respond immediately to everyone as we both work in schools and have students to attend to during the day. We want to reiterate that we are real humans and we are not raising money for ourselves.

"We set the goal at $10,000 as wishful thinking, but we're amazed at what a group of people can do when they are determined and committed to caring for others.

"ASB is working on what to do next. They are grieving and also trying to support. To make things a little easier, this form is here for you to fill out if you have a service or offering that could be useful:

http://tinyurl.com/saugussupportservices

All results here will be shared with ASB and they will utilize your information to decide next steps."
